Stuff I've already said |7:44 PM| Saturday started out with a cat urinating onto my jeans.
Monday morning I fixed a guy's server, weird problem I'd never seen before, without the internet I would have been hosed.
I could never work in medicine for a lot of reasons, not the least of which, biological systems can't always be fixed. If I have a broken VCR, if I was willing to put the time into it, I could make a functional VCR again. If I had to melt down the component materials and re-forge them, maybe. But it could still be done. I step on an ant and there's no putting the "ant"-ness back into it.
I may be considered immature, or maybe I've been given too many second chances, but I hate it when something breaks forever. Drives me crazy, eats into me.
Same thing goes for emotional states.
And that's why I get along with machines.
While a lot of trans-humanists might be batshit, it would be nice to treat certain biological systems as if they were a regular machine, say, adjusting serotonin uptake times dynamically.
