Trophies |2:07 AM|
I occasionally keep little mementos/trophies from particular incidents in my life, when I can or even occurs to me. It ties into my nature as a pack rat, I assume. Remind me to never become a career criminal, as I'm sure I'd get busted from a collection of deposit slips from the banks I rob, or something along those lines.
List of Trophies I currently have (that I can recall):
74-134 Pencil that I used for the
cert test.Battery kill switch key from the
light bar incident
Chunk of pinewood from the Shelf issue.
Drive belt from the worst printer repair I ever had. It took some 5 hours, because the device was so onery, and the directions from the service manual vague in the extreme.
Do Not Disturb signs from every hotel on my Longest Road Trip.
The bottle of captain morgan's Rum from a great trip to E3. It was supposed to be the "Backup Plan" when I was stuck at the airport for 20 hours. Derek and I had been carrying it around all weekend.
An envelope that was supposed to hold my bonus check from being named "Employee of the year". Without a plaque, this is my only memento.
I kept this
poker chip from the second best card game I've ever played. The first best, I had to cash it all out, but then I furnished my house.
This chip comes from one of the trips to Arizona. Derek and I were out there to meet friends, it was a grand old time. That was the trip that I ended up driving all the way to Phoenix by myself. Anyhow, Derek needed the hotel room, and I had to wander the wilds of Phoenix without anything to do. I ended up a poker room, and cleaned it right up. Yeah, low limit game, but it paid for all the gas home, plus some.
Necklace This was supposed to be a gift, a looong time ago. It never made it there, and that's tragic. This is a reminder of one of the biggest fuck-ups I've made in a relationship (friend or otherwise). Are you out there, Wickham?
A hemp choker from the first time I was genuinely (I think) in love.
This green ribbon is a reminder of something very, very important and personal to me.
