Shooting Star |2:31 AM|
I'm surprised it took so long, but while I was throwing a boomerang at night, the light came off. I wasn't as confident as usual with the tape job, and just a second or two after I had thrown the boomerang, it failed.

I'd been trying to get the "Kilimanjaro" boomerang to come back to me in medium wind. I'm pretty sure I've only caught that damn thing like 8 times out of god knows how many throws. I threw it, and the LED fell off, and it looked just like I thought it would. The light was spinning on the blade of the boomerang, and then it was a green shooting star, a parabolic path showing it was now only under gravity's control. I lost sight of the boomerang instantly. My thoughts on the matter, at first, were simple:

Sssssssssshit.

When that sonavabitch is returning, it's slow, and you can hear the whum...whum...whum as it turns in the air. That thing had suddenly lost weight, and so I had no idea where it would be flying. I realized it was entirely possible that I could hear it, and spot it against what little light there was in the sky, and then catch it. It would be an incredible challenge, a great test of my abilities!

Instead I took the sane course of action: duck. I may be an overconfident egomaniac sometimes, but I like to think I'm not stupid.

I went silent, lo and behold, whum....whum....whum...thud. It landed directly behind me. This whole evening I had been shooting for a throw that close to me. Figures.

I want to discuss ADHD and my bursts of energy for solving/creating problems, but I should go to sleep.
